For job seekers, there’s good news and bad news.
The good news is some parts of the economy are on the upswing and many companies are hiring again. In my own career coaching business, I see my clients landing good jobs faster and easier.
The bad news… and it’s bad… is that more than 8 million people lost their jobs during this Great Recession and it’s estimated that unemployment won’t fall to 5% (a more normal rate) until 2014…. at the earliest!
If you’re anything like me and the people I know, you can’t wait five years for the economy to create enough new jobs to get all 8 million unemployed people back to work.
That means today’s job seekers must do 4 things: 1) choose smart job targets; 2) have an excellent resume and cover letter that stands out; 3) use the most effective job search strategies; 4) know how to ace the interview.
As America’s Job Search Coach, it’s my job to help you excel at all 4 of these. Sign up now for the RSS blog feed to get the insider strategies that will help you land your ideal job.
Until the next time we connect… what do you think you need to do / change to’ land work faster?
